Whenever I make iced coffee, it turns out so gross. It’s either too bitter or too light. I want my coffee to taste like the iced coffee at Dunkin Donuts. The Dunkin Donuts associates will not tell me how to make it and I totally understand why but it gets expensive to buy it every morning. Any tips?

Start by brewing what you think is an ideal cup of coffee. Don’t let it sit in the pot or it will get bitter. When its ready, pour it immediately over lots of ice to chill it. You may want to make a little stronger than usual so it doesn’t get doo diluted. Find yourself some vanilla syrup (William Sonoma or some similar store will have this) and add a few drops to a helthy squirt. This adds a light sweetness to the coffee. IF you like cream in your coffee, try using vanilla soy milk. It adds creamy richness and no fat!
Brew coffee to double strength. (For example, if you use 4 cups of water and 7 tbsp of coffee beans, to brew double strength you’ll use 2 cups of water and 7 tbsp of coffee beans). Then pour over ice and add sweetener and/or milk as desired.
Starbucks’ Kenya beans make really great ice coffee.
Ask Starbucks instead….I bet they’ll tell you!
hmm… I believe the best way to make GREAT Iced coffee is to first know what kind of coffee you like to drink. After you know that the rest is easy. Just brew the coffee and let it cool for about 15 min, after cooling place it in a plastic piture and keep it in the fridge. Be sure to use the lid so it doesn’t taste like the rest of the food in the fridge. Never put hot coffee on Ice, its horrible. Anytime after your coffee has chilled you can use ice and drink it like tea.
Enjoy
look at the answers above. i have the same problem and now i read these answers and theyre amazing.
Brew your coffee 1st off and add ice after words.
You have to get a “Toddy Coffee” maker. It looks like a large (about 1 gal.) Tupperware Ice tea pitcher with a filtered drain plug on the bottom. You use it like your making sun tea. the pitcher is filled about half way with cold water. you add a large amount of coffee ( like enough to make 2 or 3 pots of coffee) Coarse ground. then top it off slowly with water. Let this sit for a day then drain the contents into a closable container. What you have is a smooth, strong espresso like drink you can now add Ice, milk etc. to. It makes the best Ice coffee I know of.
USE LIQUID FLAVORED CREAMER.
I make individual glasses not pots, but here’s how I do it.
In a large tumbler, fill to 1/3 full of coffee. Add sugar, and creamer to your taste, then fill the rest of the way with ice.
Simple, enjoy!
They have coffee bags – Folgers I think (like tea bags) — hang them in a pitcher and ‘brew’ just like sun tea.
